Accept Christ

God loves you and desires to have a personal relationship with you.  He wants to know you, and He wants you to love Him.  The Bible tells us that God sent his Son to die for our sins because He loves us so much.  It is that love – that desire for a relationship – that fills all voids.  God is the one that makes you complete.  So how do you become a Christian?

1. Admit to God you are a sinner.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”  Romans 3:23

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”  I John 1:9

“He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit.”  Titus 3:5

(in other words, Good Works Don’t Save!)

2.  Believe that Jesus is God’s Son and that He died on a cross for your sins.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus), that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”  John 3:16

“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.”  Acts 16:31

3.  Confess Jesus before others.

“That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;  For with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.”  Romans 10:9,10

You do not need to say a long, formal prayer.  Just talk to God and tell Him that you:  Admit you are a sinner and cannot save yourself;  Believe that Jesus is God’s Son and died on a cross for your sins;  Confess Jesus by telling others about Him.

“For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”  Romans 10:13
